AY 107 Ayurvedic Herbology I

These classes continued the study of nutrition and introduced the traditional use of herbs in Ayurvedic medicine. The therapeutic use of food and spices, i.e., using food as medicine was covered. The material introduced Ayurvedic foods to balance the doshas and maintain health. Ayurvedic herbal philosophy and practices, the Herbal Materia Medica, and the terminology of herbal actions was covered. The goal of this material was to offer an understanding of the use of Ayurvedic herbs to restore physical and psychological balance.
